Our Story

After what was supposed to be a fun night out in 2003, owner Kais, then 17, experienced a brush with death in a car accident. He had broken his hand in multiple places and developed back problems, but the doctors found no life-threatening injuries resulting from the crash. They then asked for further testing for another anomaly they happened to find. The following scans would lead the doctors to diagnose him with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a type of cancer. After this shocking revelation, the family would begin a long, painful journey. The chemotherapy forced Kais to postpone his education in 2004. Nine courses of the chemotherapy proved unsuccessful. Following a bone marrow (stem cell) transplant and 25 sessions of radiotherapy, Kais entered remission only to have the cancer pop up again in tests in July of 2005. A further 4 types of chemotherapy would ensue over the course of the year with Kais even being placed on the world register for a risky stem cell transplant in 2006 with no matches available. Kais, however, cast a determined figure and refused to give in. He felt a strong drive to fulfil a greater purpose in this life, and his sheer will rewarded him soon after. He made a miraculous recovery in 2007 as the cancer had disappeared seemingly on its own.

 

After this gruelling ordeal, Kais was determined and filled with purpose. He was not going to let this second chance go to waste and decided that he would, to the best of his powers, not allow his life to be threatened by the spectre of disease ever again. He searched to find the secret to a long, prosperous life. Trying many diets and fitness regimes to no avail, he had an epiphany in 2015. He would turn vegan after a spell of deep research. His newfound hunger for health would rub off on his family who turned vegan as well soon after. This unified belief in the healing powers of a plant-based diet reaped its rewards in a large way as the family was able to shake off conditions including arthritis, heart problems, osteoporosis, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. After several medical tests, they were resoundingly taken off their medications. This offers the backdrop for the conception of the entity that would be V Spot. The family had already possessed a strong background in the food business on and off since 2003 (working with pizzas since 2013).
